I often get asked questions about our Meridian Blends: how they relate to our body clock and how they work to redirect our energy and clear blockages.

In this post I want to explain the virtues of Meridian Blends, the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine and how you can harness its powers to achieve harmony and balance within.

In a nutshell: according to traditional Chinese medicine, there are 12 main lines of energy – or qi – in our body that flow within our anatomy, called the Meridian System. Every organ in the body has a two hour peak period where the organ is in its natural time and dominates the cycle. If you find you have a slump at any particular time of the day or tend to wake at a particular hour every night, it may be an indication of disharmony in one of your energy lines. 

Based on this ancient wisdom, I created the Meridian aromatherapy blends to be applied to specific acupressure points to encourage correct flow of energy around the body.

Using the clock as a reference (in the above graphic), you can find the corresponding blend for your need that can easily be applied at any time of the day.

For example, if you find you are experiencing fearfulness, nervousness, impatience, frustration, restlessness or feel hypersensitivity between the hours of 3 and 5pm, it may be that your qi is disharmonious. During this time, your bladder is in its peak period and its energy is dominating your cycle. Take the Bladder Meridian and gently roll the blend in a circular motion at the acupressure point shown in the instructions and hold for a minute or until you feel a warm flow. Repeat the affirmation, “I easily adapt and go with the flow of life”. When your energy is rebalanced you will experience feelings of respect, determination, willpower, ambition and connectedness.

There are many different symptoms that may be caused by any one of the 12 lines of qi. Take the time to pay attention to your mind and body and note what time your energies seem off. You can then consult the clock to find the right Meridian Blend to help alleviate your concerns and correct your internal energy. Every Meridian blend comes with instructions and an image for application.
